Blue Flag for Marina dell’Orso in Poltu Quatu
Blue Flag for Marina dell’Orso in Poltu Quatu: there’s a new entry among the marinas that in Sardinia got awarded by the Blue Flag eco label in 2018: “Marina dell’Orso” in Poltu Quatu. Marina dell’Orso means literary “Bear’s marina” but what’s more interesting is the name of its location “Poltu Quatu” that in Sardinian languange means “hidden port“. In fact the marina is placed at the end of a natural fjord also known on the nautical charts as “Stintino dell’Orso“. By the way Poltu Quatu is exactly in the middle between Baja Sardinia and Porto Cervo, in front of Caprera Island and Cappuccini Island, at the border of the famous “Costa Smeralda“, in Arzachena municipality (North East Sardinia).
The Marina dell’Orso – which is part of the Poltu Quatu village – was born in 1987 with the intention of creating a port to allow those who love the sea to sail and enjoy all comforts and pleasures of life. It has 305 berths, from 8 to 35 meters, while the water depth is up to 3 metres at the entrance until 2 metres at the inner docks. Here is the map of Poltu Quatu ind its marina:
